Date: 29 November 2009
Venue: Roehampton

Advent Prayer DayAdvent Prayer Day

A group of RSCJ from around the Province met at Roehampton for a day of prayer and reflection to prepare for Advent. The day was focussed on 'preparing a cloth for the cradle' through exploring the advent themes of waiting, anticipation and expectation in Scripture, song, image and prayer.

After a time of prayer together, 4 stations were set up around the building. The titles of these were 'the one who comes' praying for justice and peace, 'Gift of God' reflecting on our giftedness, 'Change our hearts' a space for repentance and Emmanuel, God with us, pondering Mary's yes.

Small groups spent half an hour in prayer at each 'station' and met together for sharing inbetween. All present found the day reflective, prayerful, relaxing and a very helpful start to their journey through Advent.
